A Tope is a horse parade and the ATENAS Tope is among one of the biggest in Costa Rica with more than a 1000 horses and riders. People enjoy the evening with food, music, dancing, fireworks, and cerveza.

At this time of year, they’re harvesting sugar cane and then burning the fields. The carbon is a great fertilizer for growing the next season’s crop. At night, you can see the flames for miles!
