Marg and I are still exploring the city and poking around in some of the well known and less known areas. We have been walking some of the back streets and looking at the old homes. We had a cheeseburger at Jimmy Buffett’s (famous for the hit songs Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in Paradise) and checked out the Cuban area. When we got back to the boat a huge 65 ft cruiser was docked next to us. We talked to the 2 couples on board and the captain who told us the boat burns 100 gallons of diesel fuel per hour……coming from Miami would cost $4500 for fuel not to mention the docking fees (250.00/day) and of course the crew. A week down here in Key West would run about $20,000 (all in) – shocking. I don’t understand it since we have the same weather and are sharing the same view of the ocean/sunsets and that’s the stuff that really matters. Still, it is a nice boat – what do you think?.
